Mountain Creek Raises $30,000 for American Red Cross Disaster Relief Effort

VERNON, New Jersey ??” Mountain Creek is thrilled to announce that their American Red Cross fundraising effort in the wake of Hurricane Katrina was a fantastic success, raising $30,000 for disaster relief efforts.

Mountain Creek launched a fundraiser on September 2, 2005, offering one free $53 lift ticket in exchange of a donation of $25 or more to the Red Cross. Mountain Creek also offered its employees a 100% matching gift program. Over 700 people took advantage of these offers, and Mountain Creek will distribute over $35,000 worth of free lift tickets for the 2005-2006 winter season.

The money raised by Mountain Creek will provide direct financial support to the American Red Cross’ Disaster Relief Fund. Pat Day, Executive Director of the Sussex County Red Cross said: “It is heartwarming to see the response from the people of Sussex county in a time of such urgent need. Thanks to Mountain Creek for taking the initiative to create this incentive and collect these funds on our behalf, as well as offering their own employees a matching gift program. Its members of the business community and individuals like these who make all the hard work we do possible.”

Charles Blier, Vice President and General Manager, Mountain Creek said, “I was actually in New Orleans a few days prior to the catastrophe and somehow because of the personal connection, doing this for the victims of Katrina instinctively felt like the right thing to do. We are happy to have been able to raise so much money in so little time.”
