VERNON, New Jersey — On Saturday, November 4th from 10am-3pm, Mountain Creek will host a book and bake sale to benefit Harvest House, a community lunch program located in Vernon. The event will take place in Mountain Express at Mountain Creek’s Vernon Base.

Harvest House was established in 1997 by 13 students at Vernon Township High School and is the only lunch program of its kind in Vernon. The local program serves hot meals to individuals and families in need and provides a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests.

After 9 years in operation, Harvest House is struggling financially to make ends meet. With 25-45 meals served to the community daily, the program relies on donations and charitable fundraising events to keep their pantry full.

All proceeds from the sale will benefit the Harvest House Community Lunch Program. Book donations should be dropped off in the Mountain Express Food Court at the Vernon Base before 2pm from October 30th – November 3rd. Baked goods for the sale plus canned and frozen food, disposable dinnerware and cleaning supplies may also be dropped off at the Glenwood Post Office on Route 517 in Glenwood, the Nearly New Consignment Shop in McAfee on Route 94, or in the First Presbyterian Church on the corner of Route 284 & 23 from 9am-1pm.
