New Year’s Eve at Sunday River

NEWRY, ME ??” The popular Massachusetts-based band Entrain returns to Sunday River New Year’s Eve. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased in advance at the Welcome Concourse at South Ridge, or by calling 800-543-2SKI. Doors open at 8 pm and it’s 21+ only.

Legends Restaurant in the Grand Summit Hotel offers a specially crafted menu by new Executive Chef Don Hauser. Two seatings at 7 and 9pm for $70 per person. Advance reservations are required and can be placed by calling 207-824-3500. The first course offers a choice between crab sherry bisque and creamy tarragon and mushroom soup and then a second course of petit Caesar salad or baby field greens follows. For the entrees there is a choice of filet mignon, pan roasted salmon, or roast chicken breast. The desserts include chocolate molten lava cake, blueberry amaretto cheesecake and key lime pie. After dinner, guests will dance the night away with party favors and a midnight toast.

The New Year’s fireworks displays promise to be the best ever and are choreographed to music. Shows are at at 8:20 pm from the Grand Summit and 9:30 from the Jordan Grand.

Activities for children and teens include a New Year’s Eve Chem Free Party at the Jordan Hotel from 5:30pm to 12:30am. The party is open to children ages 7 to 18 for $30 per child. Children will be divided into groups by age level and there will be different activities for each group. The younger children will be constantly supervised as they enjoy face painting, balloon makers, movies, art and crafts, games, and fireworks. The teenagers will have a DJ, karaoke, ping pong, video games and poker tournaments along with movies.
