KILLINGTON, Vermont ??” Pico Mountain and Mountain Travelers Hike and Ski Shop welcome top telemark manufacturers to Pico Mountain for a day of free telemark demos on Sunday, Jan. 15.

Anyone with a valid lift ticket for the day or valid season pass may try the latest equipment from various manufactures throughout the day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Telemark Demo Day will be one of the many activities taking place at Pico Mountain and Killington Resort over Martin Luther King Weekend. In addition, Killington will be hosting the Sports Illustrated For Kids Next Snow Search Qualifier and the Budweiser Clydesdales.

Pico Mountain is a favorite of the telemark community, both for the variety of terrain and uncrowded slopes that all lead back to the Pico Lodge base area. Pico offers telemark lessons through the Perfect Turn Ski and Snowboard School. Perfect Turn telemark instructors at Pico Mountain are among the best in the sport and Pico Mountain has long been regarded as THE mountain to learn telemark skiing from the best!

“The terrain is just perfect for it,” said Peter Kavouksorian, owner of Mountain Travelers Hike and Ski Shop in Killington. “There’s a growing crew of telemarkers that spend most of their time at Pico Mountain because it’s not very crowded and the trail layout lets everyone explore the mountain while staying connected.”

In addition, Pico Mountain hosts Telemark Tuesdays every Tuesday throughout the season and features group telemark lessons at 9:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. Plus, telemark lessons take place every weekend at 9:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. for ages 13 and older by reservation only. Private lessons are available at any time during the week by calling the Perfect Turn Ski and Snowboard School toll-free at 1-800-923-9444.
