NEWRY, Maine ??” The world-renowned Russian American Kids Circus is scheduled to appear in the Grand Ballroom at Sunday River’s Grand Summit Resort Hotel starting at 7:00 p.m., for two shows Jan. 14 and 15. The group consists of kids ages 6-18 who have performed live and on television for over 10 years on national programs such as Good Morning America, Reading Rainbow and The Cosby Show among many others both in America and abroad.

The Circus was founded in 1994 in Brooklyn, N.Y. by former Moscow Circus star Alex Berenchtein, his wife Regina and mother-in-law Olga Partigul as the non-profit academy New Way Circus Center, Inc. The academy encouraged children of all ages and backgrounds to learn artistic self-expression and teamwork through training in the circus curriculum. The advanced students who mastered the basic circus performing skills went on to perform and came to be known as the Russian American Kids Circus.

Audiences can expect to see these young students of entertainment in a variety of unique performances including juggling, acrobatics, precision balancing acts, daring aerial feats and facetious clown displays. The group uses modern technique and advanced equipment to showcase a contemporary production within the traditional circus mold. More information on the Russian American Kids Circus is available at
