NEW HARTFORD, CT ??” Recent upgrades to Ski Sundown’s grooming fleet to include two Bombardier M/P Plus snowcats, has allowed the ski area to move forward in cutting the progressive terrain that keeps the sport growing.

This winter, check out Connecticut’s nastiest terrain features in the Gunbarrel Terrain Park, which will play host to local talent, a multitude of special events and the East Coast’s highest quality jibs. Our Progressive Terrain Park, located at the Sunnyside Learning Area, is the perfect place to hone your skills before ripping it up on the main mountain. The park will showcase features that range from scaled down versions of the Gunbarrel Terrain Park to specifically designed features that are a good time for the whole family. Ski Sundown plans to add 10 new rails and boxes to last season’s collection including a new 50′ S+C rail and 60′ trap kink.

Ski Sundown’s Snowmaking and Grooming Team is gearing up to meet and exceed their customers’ expectations. They take great pride in providing their customers with the best and most consistent conditions possible all season.

“Every year we look to improve our ability to deliver a deep dependable snow depth and consistent sliding surface. Our focus has been on tweaking our already impressive snowmaking system. We have added a fleet of low energy, portable tower snowguns to our existing formidable arsenal of snowmaking equipment,” said Ski Sundown’s Director of Marketing, Dotty Craig. “The Top Gun, Pegasus Pipe Dream snowgun will allow the Sundown snowmaking crew to run more snowguns at the same time thereby opening trails faster and less snowmaking during operating hours,” Craig added.

Ski Sundown will open for the season on Friday, December 17 at 9am. For more information, visit www.skisundown.com.
