HANCOCK, Massachusetts — Jiminy Peak begins snowmaking today in preparation for opening day this Saturday, November 22nd. Sustained cold temperatures throughout the week will allow for extensive snowmaking from top to bottom including days of 24 hour snow production. 9 trails will be open for the weekend including West Way, North Glade, Lower Glade, Grand Slam, Upper Slingshot, Lower Slingshot, 360, 180 and Cricket for 54 acres of open terrain.

Jiminy’s powerful snowmaking system was enhanced over the summer with new technology for the LP3 gun head patented by Penttii Nikkanen, a former Pratt & Whitney engineer. The new technology allows Jiminy to make snow even more efficiently at slightly higher temperatures meaning more snow and an even greater experience for our guests.
