SNOWSHOE, West Virginia — Snowshoe Mountain announced today the resort will play host to a Susan G. Komen Ski for the Cure event Saturday, February 28th. The Komen Foundation supports a variety of events nationwide aimed at raising awareness and funds for breast cancer research. The Ski for the Cure event will feature $100 lift tickets available for Feb 28, with $55 of the ticket price going directly to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Participants will also be eligible for discounted $45 lift tickets for Friday, February 27 and Sunday, March 1.

In order to identify fellow survivors and supporters, participants will be asked to sport a bright pink boa throughout the weekend. The boas will be provided by Snowshoe, and may be picked up during a Friday night welcome party at the Junction Restaurant, or Saturday morning at the pre-skiing gathering. In addition to the boa, guests purchasing the $100 ticket will be invited to the Friday Night Welcome Party, which will feature complimentary appetizers; a special Happy Hour on Saturday at the Moonshine Pub; and a Pink Party under The Big Top on Saturday night. The Pink Party will feature a DJ, special pink drinks, and fun and games for the whole family. Live entertainment and pink drink specials will also be featured at Saturday’s Happy Hour gathering.

In addition to the special lift ticket pricing, all Ski for the Cure participants will be treated to $18 per day rental equipment and lodging discounts. Interested parties should call 877-441-4FUN and mention the Ski for the Cure event for more details and lodging pricing. Direct donations can be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
