Stowe is All "Spruced Up" for the 2005-06 Ski Season

STOWE, Vermont ??” A NEW high-speed detachable quad, NEW terrain, and the first fully automated snowmaking system in New England is what’s NEW in Stowe this winter. These brand new improvements complement the two new lifts and beginner terrain that were added to Spruce last winter. All totaled, these projects represent $30 million in improvements to the best intermediate terrain east of the Rockies. Greatly improving the skiing and riding on almost 20% if its terrain is a significant improvement that’s been over due for decades.

Improvements to the mountain experience are just the beginning of what is now a $300,000,000 revitalization project that is transforming Stowe Mountain Resort into the premier winter destination in the East. The new village will have a luxurious base lodge, outdoor ice-skating, performing arts center, restaurants, shops, private residences, a mountain links 18 hole golf course, and a five star Destination Resorts hotel and spa. Now in its second year, the development named “Spruce Peak at Stowe” is going vertical.

Stowe Mountain Resort is scheduled to open for the season on November 17, 2005.

Other early season happenings at Stowe include; ‘The Stowe Turkey Rail Jam’ – November 26. Bring your gobble or your wobble as Stowe kicks off the holidays in style. Beginning at noon, we’ll be cranking’ the tunes and working off those turkey leftovers. No need to register, nobody to compete against. Show up, grab a raffle ticket and slide away. After the event, we’ll be giving away awesome prizes for everyone, and a prize for “Most Original Turkey Costume.”

‘Stowefest Demo Days’ ??“ December 10 & 11. Demo ’til you drop. All day, area ski and snowboard industry reps will be showing off the hottest and latest gear on the market. Demo products from Dynastar/Lange, Rossignol, Head, Nitro and Burton, just to name a few. Stop in the Stowe Toys Demo Center for your binding fitting, and you’ll be on your way.
