LUDLOW, VERMONT — Jibbers, huckers and groms will gather Saturday, February 10, as Okemo Mountain Resort hosts “The Main Event” East Coast snowboard series. This slopestyle competition is the premier event of the season welcoming both amateur and professional riders. Okemo is the third and final series location prior to the finals at Loon Mountain February 25.

The Main Event will take place in Okemo’s Nor’Easter Super Park, the resort’s largest terrain park for experienced riders. In addition to Okemo’s signature Truth Rail, the park features large rail and box features plus a variety of jumps, step ups, step down table tops and more. Being serviced by the North Star Express Quad optimizes the number of runs skiers and riders can make throughout the day.

Event registration is slated to run from 8 to 9:30 a.m. in the Okemo Clocktower base lodge mezzanine. Participation is limited to the first 100 entrants. The entry fee is $50 and Okemo season pass holders will receive a registration fee discount. The competition begins at 10 a.m. with a riders’ meeting at the top of the course. Amateur women will rule the park from 10:20 to 11 a.m. and then the pro women take over from 11:10 to 11:50 a.m. Amateur men take to the jibs from 1:30 to 2:10 p.m. and then pro men own the park from 1:30 to 2:10 p.m. The Main Event finals are scheduled from 2:20 to closing. An awards ceremony is scheduled at the completion of the event, in the Okemo Clocktower base area. Top male and female riders will qualify for the series finals at Loon Mountain and the top riders in the finals will receive a wild card bid to the U.S. Open for slopestyle.
