The Snow is Falling at Mount Snow Vermont with More Than Four Inches Reported by Mid-morning Thursday

West Dover, VT (January 12, 2012) – Snow began to fall in the early morning hours today at Mount Snow Resort in Southern Vermont bringing some much-anticipated powder just in time for the MLK holiday weekend. The mountain was reporting more than four inches had accumulated by 11:00am with flakes still falling at a moderate clip.

Mount Snow’s forecast is calling for the snow to continue through the afternoon with some mixed precipitation expected overnight eventually changing back to all snow by Friday morning and continuing through Friday night. Plow crews throughout the area have been working diligently to clear the roads for the busy three-day weekend.

The natural snowfall is a welcome addition to Mount Snow’s snowmaking efforts, which the resort expects to continue as long as temperatures permit in an effort to provide as much variety of open terrain as possible. It was announced today that the popular ski destination will be opening Sunbrook, its fourth mountain face by Saturday which will expand the open terrain to almost 300 acres spread across more than 40 trails.
