LONDONDERRY, VT. – February is going to be fantastik at Magic, because it’s our official 50 Years celebration of when Swiss ski instructor Hans Thorner first opened the peak of Magic to skiing. February 4th at Magic will be a party day with 50% off tickets for anyone 50 years or older; throwback, retro ski outfits get you 10% off tickets; anyone riding the #50 chair on the famed Red Lift receives prizes; a morning fun-race for all ages and skier/rider types to enter; apres ski trivia contest at the Black Line Brew Pub; a 50/50 raffle with proceeds going to Irene relief efforts; and finally, a buffet dinner with dancing to a DJ who takes us from the 60s to the present! More information can be found at http://www.magicmtn.com/eventscalendar.php.

Plus, there’s nothing we like to celebrate more than powder skiing, so expect mid-week openings for Magic’s legendary “powder days” of 6″ or more of fresh snow as the jetsream starts to work its usual February “magic”. President’s weekend will bring great apres ski music to the Black Line Brew Pub. And, Magic closes out February with the 14th running of the Black Magic Extreme Challenge on February 25th where the best freeskiers and riders put it all on the line to see who’s “king of the hill”. It’s a wild event and a fantastik way to close out February at Magic.
