USASA Adirondack Series Titles Up for Grab February 3 at Whiteface

WILMINGTON, New York — The USASA Adirondack Series titles are up for grab on Saturday, Feb. 3 at Whiteface during the USASA (www.usasa.org) Adirondack Series Whiteface Park Slopestyle Doubleheader, presented by North Country Community College (www.nccc.edu).

Bordz-Up, maker of snowboard, skateboard, surfboard and ski gravity suspension racks, is the featured sponsor of the morning competition while Viking Ski Shop, located in Plattsburgh, is the afternoon’s featured sponsor. The first competition begins at 11 am with the second event beginning approximately one hour after the completion of the first event.

This four-event series allows skiers and riders to show off their latest moves at Whiteface. The competitors are divided into age groups and the winner of each group qualifies for the USASA Nationals in Tahoe, Calif.

The first two events were held Jan. 7. Winners included: David Randall of Wilmington, N.Y., and Christian Walrath of Gloversville, N.Y., in the Open Men’s class; Mike Phelabaum and Matt Nardiello of Lake Placid, N.Y., in Youth Men (14-15); Joseph “Tom” Sewall of Pottersville, N.Y., and Ben Girardi of Fayetteville, N.Y., in Junior Men (16-17); Chris Cammarano of Wernersville, Pa., and Andrew Wilson of Peru, N.Y., in Skier Men (16-19); and double winners Cameron Guay in Grommet Boys (8-9); Nick Fiorini of Davis, Calif., in Skier Boys (11-15); Rebekah Ashley in Breaker Girls (12-13); John Wilkins of Lake Placid in Breaker Boys (12-13); Meghan Dorsey in Youth Women (14-15); Vicky Ashley in Junior Women (16-17); and Robert Vidile in Men’s Jam (18-22).

The USASA Adirondack Series is open to all skiers and riders. Interested participants may register through NYSEF at (518) 946-7001 or sign-up at the NYSEF Log Cabin at Whiteface. It has been made possible through the cooperation of the New York Ski Educational Foundation (NYSEF), National Sports Academy, and the Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA).
