NORTH CONWAY, New Hampshire ??” This summer the Mount Washington Observatory’s Weather Discovery Center, 2779 Main Street in North Conway (across the street from the Eastern Slope Inn Playhouse), will introduce Friday’s Forecast, a fun, weather workshop for the children ages four to eight. However, kids of all ages are invited!

Each Friday, starting July 7 – July 28 and August 11 – August 18, Outreach Educator, Michelle Cruz, will lead two sessions of Friday’s Forecast, one at 10:15 a.m. and a repeat workshop at 10:45 a.m.

Friday’s Forecast will include readings of exciting weather stories followed by games and activities where kids will become human molecules, create a thunderstorm indoors and even generate wind.

“I can’t wait to begin Friday’s Forecast!,” says Cruz. “This program will give the younger students the opportunity to learn more about weather through story books and fun weather games and activities. And, after Friday’s Forecast, kids can enjoy interacting with exhibits in our museum.”

Friday’s Forecast is scheduled to complement the performances of the North Country Center for the Arts Children’s Theater.

The Mount Washington Observatory’s Weather Discovery Center and Museum Shop is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. daily. The Weather Discovery Center is an interactive weather museum, and is located on Main Street in North Conway Village. Admission is free this summer through sponsorship by Mt. Washington Auto Road and Great Glen Trails and includes entrance to a weather theater, where you can participate in our two-way, live, link with an Observer on staff at the Mount Washington Observatory, and interact with more than 12 fun and informative exhibits related to weather, climate and Mount Washington.
