KILLINGTON, Vermont — With another three inches of new snow Tuesday, Killington Resort has now received 100 inches of snow since March 1, and 243 inches for the season.

This year marks the fourth time in the past 20 years that Killington has received 100 or more inches of snow since March 1. During the 2000-01 season, Killington received a record 125 inches of snow after March 1, including a record 316 inches for the season. Killington averages 250 inches annually.

“Winter may have started out slowly, but the snow continues to fall and we’re experiencing some of the best conditions we’ve seen all season,” said Dave Rathbun, vice president of brand management and sales at Killington, “and with forecasters calling for another 6-12 inches of new snow on Thursday, the conditions this weekend will be outstanding!”

Killington currently has 100 open trails and will add another 20-plus trails for the weekend with the re-opening of Bear Mountain, including the 430-foot long Superpipe and additional terrain park features.

Killington’s “King of Spring” season rolls on this weekend with the 11th Annual Sunshine Daydream Festival, a tribute to the Grateful Dead. This year’s festival is part of the Bud Light Concert Series and will feature live music all day, plus Ben & Jerry’s will be giving out free samples of ice cream.
