Winter Storm Walloping Mount Snow Resort with 17 – 19 Inches of Snow Today and More on the Way

Mount Snow Powder DayMount Snow, VT (Dec. 27, 2012) – If Mother Nature had a “nice list”, it’s apparent that Mount Snow is at the top of it because snow has been falling at the southern Vermont resort since yesterday evening at rates of one to two inches per hour with a reported 17 – 19 inches of accumulation as of 3:15 p.m. and the storm is showing no signs of letting up. As a result of the significant snowfall, open terrain went from 31 trails covering 242 skiable acres on Wednesday, December 26 to 73 trails and 545 skiable acres today.

“It goes without saying that the timing of this storm is fantastic because so many people are on holiday break so they can come up here to enjoy all the snow”, an enthusiastic Kelly Pawlak, Mount Snow’s general manager, said. “I’ve never heard the word ‘epic’ so many times in one day.”

Mount Snow has a full schedule of events and live music planned through New Year’s Eve including a Torchlight Parade and Fireworks Extravaganza on Friday, December 28, the first Grommet Jam for kids 12 and under on Monday, December 31 as well as free kids games, snowflake making, scavenger hunts and bonfire with s’mores.
