Mount Snow, Vt. (March 17, 2014) – In honor of Olympic silver medalist Devin Logan, Mount Snow and the Mount Snow Valley have planned “Devin Day” on Saturday, March 22 to celebrate her success on the world’s biggest sports stage. Devin grew up skiing at Mount Snow, attended Mount Snow Academy and was a member of the resort’s Freestyle Competitions Program on her way to becoming one of the best female freeskiers on the planet. She is now sponsored by Mount Snow and Carinthia Parks as a member of the Carinthia Team.

After qualifying for the first ever U.S. Olympic women’s ski slopestyle team following her win at the Grand Prix in Park City, UT, Logan was considered one of the early favorites to medal in the event’s inaugural appearance at the Winter Games. Once Devin made it through the qualifying rounds in Sochi, her first run in the finals earned her a score of 85.40 which held up through the rest of the competition, landing the West Dover, VT native in the silver medal position on the Olympic podium.

Since then it has been a whirlwind tour for the talented freeskier, going coast-to-coast making appearances on The Today Show, Good Morning America, SI Now, ET Weekly and The Pete Holmes Show. She even attended a couple red carpet parties at the Oscars and rubbed elbows with the likes of Meredith Vieira, Ben Affleck and Laura Prepon. Her trip home to Mount Snow and West Dover will be a welcome opportunity to visit with family and friends as well as make some laps through Mount Snow’s acclaimed Carinthia Parks.

Leading up to Devin Day, Logan made an appearance at her old elementary school in Wilmington, VT and spoke to students at Mount Snow Academy. She was also on-hand at the Carinthia Freeski Open, which is Mount Snow’s Association of Freeskiing Professionals certified slopestyle event, held on Saturday, March 15. Devin spent the day rooting on future Olympians and handing out cash prizes to athletes who pulled the best tricks.

Mount Snow has some big surprises in store for their hometown Olympian which will be revealed on Devin Day.

The schedule for March 22: The parade will begin in the town of Dover at 10:30 a.m. and head north on route 100 to the North Access Rd. of Mount Snow. The vehicle Devin is riding in will pull up to the Main Base Area of Mount Snow where a presentation for “The Key to the Valley” will be made by select board members from the towns of Dover and Wilmington.
