Stowe Country ClubStowe, VT – May 2, 2013 – As the trails on the mountain change from white to green, golfers in Stowe celebrate another annual rite of spring – the opening of The Stowe County Club. The beautiful golf course located in the heart of the Town of Stowe opens this Saturday, May 4.

Stowe Country Club is the region’s only 18-hole public golf course, and this year the Club is celebrating its 50th season of its current 18-hole designed; the original 9-hole course opened in 1950.

“We are a resort course, so anyone who wants to experience great golf can play here, but we also offer annual membership,” says Club Manager Josh Nicholls. “With close to 250 members, every year we’re growing modestly. There is a lot of enthusiasm here right now.” Members comprise The Stowe Golf Association, who plan, organize and run over 35 member events each summer.

Stowe Country Club is also unveiling a new frequent player program called “Golf 108,” designed for golfers who don’t opt for a membership but still want to enjoy the club with frequency. “Golf 108 utilizes the resort’s Evolution Stowe Card technology and will make use of social media to offer too-good-to-be-true bi-weekly promotions,” adds Nicholls. “Golfers can save 20% everyday or they can pre-purchase 6 rounds (108 holes) at a 25% savings. The best part of the program will be our bi-weekly offers. The premier offer runs from opening to May 24 and offers two-for-one greens fees as well as $1 buckets of balls to help you shake the rust off your swing.”
