Sugarbush To Hold “Giant Slayer Day” Family Event

sugarbush mountainWarren, VT. (February 26, 2013) – Cities across North America will be celebrating their own Giant Slayer Day in an epic way, in anticipation of upcoming theatrical release “Jack the Giant Slayer”—a fun, 3D action adventure from director Bryan Singer.

From giant footprints in the snow, to giant family charity events, to a range of giant displays, Giant Slayers everywhere should prepare for GIANT happenings far and wide. 

Experience Giant Slayer Day at Sugarbush Resort in Warren, Vermont by helping to create a GIANT footprint in the snow! On March, 1 from 2:30 – 4:00 pm kids and their families are invited to gather in the snow behind the Gate House Lodge at Lincoln Peak where there will be an outline of a footprint. Join the fun and pack down the snow to create one GIANT footprint to celebrate the film’s release. A reception in the Schoolhouse will follow with plenty of “Jack the Giant Slayer” goodies.

The film tells the story of how an age-old war is reignited when a young farmhand unwittingly opens a gateway between our world and a fearsome race of giants. Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young man, Jack, into the battle of his life to stop them. Fighting for a kingdom and its people, and the love of a brave princess, he comes face to face with the unstoppable warriors he thought only existed in legend… and gets the chance to become a legend himself.

Directed by Bryan Singer, the 3D action adventure “Jack the Giant Slayer” stars Nicholas Hoult as Jack. It also stars Eleanor Tomlinson as Princess Isabelle; Stanley Tucci as the deceitful Lord Roderick; Ian McShane as the besieged King Brahmwell; Bill Nighy as the giants’ ferocious two-headed leader, General Fallon; and Ewan McGregor as the loyal Knight Elmont.

The screenplay is by Darren Lemke and Christopher McQuarrie and Dan Studney, story by Darren Lemke & David Dobkin. “Jack the Giant Slayer” was produced by Neal Moritz, David Dobkin, Bryan Singer, Patrick McCormick and Ori Marmur, with Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni, Alex Garcia, Toby Emmerich, Richard Brenner, Michael Disco and John Rickard serving as executive producers.

The creative filmmaking team included director of photography Newton Thomas Sigel, production designer is Gavin Bocquet, editors John Ottman and Bob Ducsay and costume designer Joanna Johnston. The music was composed by John Ottman.
