The Hills Are Alive with the Sound of Opera at Sugarbush Resort

Warren, VT June 7, 2012 – The 7th annual Green Mountain Opera Festival has returned to the Mad River Valley.

Montreal-based Artistic Director Taras Kulish, a veteran of the Opera stage for 15 years, brings two concerts and a series of Open Rehearsals to the mountainside lodges at Sugarbush.

An intimate Opera Brunch at Timbers Restaurant is being held on Sunday, June 10th. This season two singers and a pianist will perform selections from the Festival’s full performances at the Opera Brunch.

On June 21st an Emerging Artists performance will take place in the Mountain View room in the Gate House Lodge. The Emerging Artists program is at the core of the Festival some 300 singers from around the world vie for the coveted 14 spots. The Emerging Artists concert will feature highlights from Don Pasquale by Donizetti.

“There is something special about listening to Opera against the beautiful backdrop of the Green Mountains,” said Win Smith, President of Sugarbush Resort.

As part of its partnership with the Green Mountain Opera Festival, Sugarbush Resort donates performance and practice space for the Festival. In addition owners of real estate at the resort donate individual residences to house Festival performers.
