Warren, VT May 18, 2012 – Sugarbush Resort announces the hiring or Richard Scarzello as Head Chef at Timbers Restaurant.

Scarzello joins the Sugarbush culinary team with a passion to develop the locally-inspired cuisine at Timbers. A supporter of local agriculture and farm-chef partnerships, Scarzello is excited to take advantage of the abundance of the rich food economy that the Mad River Valley and the state of Vermont has to offer.

“As a Vermont native who has expanded his depth of knowledge with working experience throughout Europe as well as close to home, Rich’s background is the perfect complement to Sugarbush’s culinary team,” said Win Smith, President of Sugarbush Resort.

Having worked for establishments including the Grill Down Under at Sugarbush Resort and the renowned Inn at Thorn Hill in Jackson, NH, Richard is poised to use his creative talents to deliver an exceptional dining experience at Timbers. Scarzello has a penchant for pastries and is working to create a new desert menu to accompany his main offerings.

Timbers Restaurant is fashioned after a 19th-century Vermont round dairy barn. With 6,000 square feet of post and beam construction and 45 foot vaulted ceilings, it’s a dining location like no other. Timbers’ menu features dry aged steaks, fresh seafood and locally raised meats, organic vegetables and artisanal cheeses in an upscale, mountainside setting.
