Yukon Kornelius Okemo Mountain ResortLUDLOW, Vt. – For Okemo Valley visitors in search of an outdoor alternative to alpine skiing and snowboarding, the Okemo Valley Nordic Center offers a way to experience winter in all its glory. Extending across pristine meadows and rolling hills, a hidden world of beauty and adventure invites winter enthusiasts to discover the benefits of cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.

The well-marked trail network features 22 km of machine-tracked and skate-groomed lanes for cross-country skiers. For those who prefer a slower pace there are 13 km of trails dedicated to snowshoeing. Okemo’s Nordic Center trails are ideally suited to all ability levels and trails are groomed daily using state-of-the-art grooming machines. Inside the Nordic Center clubhouse, visitors enjoy a fully stocked Nordic Shop with the latest in outdoor clothing and accessories. Demos, equipment rentals, repairs and waxing are available on-site. Dressing rooms with showers and lockers make a nice change from the rustic facilities typical of most Nordic centers.

“Nordic skiing and snowshoeing are fun ways to experience the outdoors in winter,” said Okemo Valley Nordic Director Michael Santa Maria. “It doesn’t take a lot of skill or a lot of practice to be able to enjoy the beauty of our trails and it’s a good workout to keep you warm on a chilly day.”

An all-day trail pass is just $24 for adults. There are also half-day rates, multi-day rates, rental and trail pass combos, and even season passes.

Cross-country ski and snowshoe instruction is available for all ability levels. A newly expanded rental and repair area features a full line of Rossignol cross-country equipment and Atlas snowshoes. Rentals are offered half-day, full day and multi-day. Guests can mix and match cross-country skis and snowshoes for the same price. Cross-country skis and snowshoe equipment demos are also available through the Okemo Valley Nordic Shop.

Okemo Valley Nordic Center is conveniently located just one mile from Okemo Mountain Resort’s Jackson Gore. Situated a few hundred yards off Routes 103/100, Okemo Valley Nordic Center occupies the Okemo Valley Golf Club facility on Fox Lane.
