Belleayre to Host Musician Norbert Leo Butz on Saturday

Highmount, NY — Broadway’s Leading Man Norbert Leo Butz brings his Tony award-winning talents to Belleayre on Saturday, Aug. 16, 8 p.m.

One of Broadway’s most versatile stars, Norbert Leo Butz earned Tony Awards for his roles in “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels” and “Catch Me If You Can.”

Other notable credits include Roger in “Rent,” his Tony-nominated turn in “Thou Shalt Not,” the outrageous Mark Twain farce “Is He Dead?” and originating the role of Fiyero in “Wicked.” He recently returned to the Great White Way in the musical adaptation of “Big Fish.”

Up next, the Tony winner has boarded Netflix’s untitled psychological thriller from the creators of Damages. Butz will star as the charming extrovert Kevin, the youngest of the tight-knit Rayburn siblings, opposite Kyle Chandler, Ben Mendelsohn and Linda Cardellini.

Owner of a boat repair yard, Kevin believes he is the unofficial mayor of the small coastal town in which the series is based. The show centers on the secrets that are revealed when the eldest brother and black sheep of the family Danny, returns home. Sissy Spacek also stars.

The intimate setting of the Belleayre Music Festival will allow the audience a rare close-up view of one of stage and screen’s shining young talents.

Comedy Night
The focus turns to laughter when Saturday Night Live alum Colin Quinn headlines Comedy in the Catskills III on Saturday, Aug. 23.

The 2014 season wraps up in ultra-cool style with a full day of Brooklyn@Belleayre taking the stage on Saturday, Aug. 30. The Hold Steady headlines with other Brooklyn-based bands including Big Data, Lily & the Parlour Tricks, Joni Fatora and more to be announced. This concert begins at 6 p.m. and will be held on several stages.

Shows begin at 8 p.m., with the exception of the Blues at Belleayre Brooklyn Bands shows, which both start at 6 p.m.
