TANNERSVILLE, Pa. – Camelback Mountain Resort will began to turn the ski area from a beautiful fall backdrop to 160 acres of winter wonderland on November 12th. The snowmaking team and the arsenal of high-powered, high-efficiency snow guns will begin to make snow and continue through the week.

“The cold weather has finally hit the Pocono Mountains and we are excited to start blowing snow to kick off our 50th anniversary season,” said Brian Bossuyt, Director of Sales and Marketing, Camelback Mountain Resort. “What used to take about 14 days now only takes about four or five days with our high efficiency, more environmentally friendly snow guns. As long as Mother Nature continues to cooperate, we will continue to make snow to open the resort on December 6th or even earlier.”

Camelback is focusing their efforts on becoming the Learn To Ski & Snowboard destination of the northeast by designing the most cutting-edge, shaped-snow terrain, specifically for the beginner in mind. Camelback will construct Mini-Pipes, Rollers, and Banked Turns and groom a Perfect Pitch slope that will literally take the fear out of downhill sliding and increase the fun and learning for every beginner. A description of Camelback’s Terrain Based Learning technology is available on the website. Camelback has also added two additional magic carpet lifts to complement this new technology allowing guests to spend more time on the snow.

Camelback is also home to the “Biggest Snowtubing Park in the USA,” with up to 42 lanes of Snowtubing excitement and 2 magic carpet lifts.
